3 Steps to Smoother, Brighter & Healthier-Looking Skin

The Bio Medic micropeel combines exfoliation with a chemical peel and cryogenic therapy for a synergistic boost in skin tone, texture and appearance. One of our most popular skin treatments at Dr. Thors’ practice, the micropeel is gentle, effective and safe for most skin types without downtime.

Treatment involves three key steps:

Step 1: Exfoliation

We begin the micropeel by exfoliating away a micro-thin outermost layer of skin, usually with microdermabrasion or dermaplaning. This process sloughs away dull, dead cellular buildup and provides a “clean” surface that is primed to receive the next part of the treatment, the peel.

Step 2: Alpha-Hydroxy Acid Peel

For this step, we will apply an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) peel, using a concentration that is appropriate for your skin’s sensitivity and condition. This loosens debris within the pores, unclogging your skin and removing dull, sun-damaged skin cells. AHA peels are lighter depth peels that utilize lactic acid and glycolic acid derived from fruit, sugar and other natural sources, and they are well-tolerated by most skin types.

Step 3: Cryogenic Therapy

The final step of your micropeel is cryogenic therapy, a cold-based carbon dioxide treatment that calms inflammation and has an anti-bacterial effect on the skin. In addition to leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed, cryogenic therapy helps reduce visible pore size.

Treatment concludes with application of a medical-grade moisturizer and UV protection to hydrate the skin and help protect your results.

What results can I expect?

Immediately following treatment, you will notice a nice glow to your skin. Over the next few days, you may expect some mild peeling as the skin continues to exfoliate away the dull, damaged outer layers. Within about 1 week, any peeling should be complete. After a Bio Medic Micropeel, your skin will:
